The Sennheiser MKE 600 is a professional shotgun microphone for film and video production, with a supercardioid/lobar pattern that favours sound in front of the camera while reducing side noise. - Aim the MKE 600 at the chest or mouth from just outside frame; distance matters more than zooming the camera.
- Use P48 when available, or install a fresh AA and check the low-battery indicator before a long take.
- Engage the low-cut filter for handling or traffic rumble, but monitor to ensure the voice does not become too thin.
- Use the shock mount indoors and proper basket-and-fur wind protection outdoors; the foam alone is for light air movement.
