- Keep the pole parallel to the floor when possible and switch sides between takes to reduce operator fatigue.
- Route the XLR with a loose service loop at the mic and secure it so it cannot slap the pole during movement.
- Watch ceilings, fixtures, and frame edges; lower the pole before walking through doors or changing locations.
