Overview
The rotary dimmer dial provides stepless level control for compatible AC tungsten and other approved resistive lighting loads up to its marked rating. Lowering voltage reduces output but also makes a tungsten filament visibly warmer, which can be used creatively for practicals or compensated elsewhere in the lighting plan. It should not be used with non-dimmable LEDs, ballasts, motors, or electronics.
Stepless rotary control
Smooth manual level changes for compatible loads
Tungsten and practical use
Simple inline control for resistive lamps
Compact location tool
Useful for table lamps and approved small fixtures
Warm-dim character
Lower voltage intentionally shifts tungsten warmer
- Control type
- Inline rotary AC dimmer
- Adjustment
- Stepless manual dial
- Compatible load
- Approved dimmable resistive tungsten lamps
- Maximum load
- Do not exceed the unit marked rating
- Colour behaviour
- Tungsten output becomes warmer as voltage is reduced
- Power conversion
- Phase-control voltage dimming
- Not compatible with
- Non-dimmable LEDs, HMI ballasts, motors, or electronics
- Primary use
- Practicals and approved small tungsten fixtures
- Check both the dimmer rating and the connected lamp wattage before use; never exceed the lower limit.
- Use only with dimmable resistive tungsten loads unless the LED or device manufacturer explicitly approves this dimmer type.
- Expect tungsten colour temperature to become warmer as voltage is reduced, and white-balance or gel accordingly.
- Keep the dimmer accessible and ventilated, tape down its cable path, and remove it from power if it buzzes, smells, or overheats.
