- Place the load on the right-hand side of the grip-head handle so gravity tightens the knuckle instead of loosening it.
- Set the tallest leg under the load, add a sandbag to that leg, and keep the arm over the footprint.
- Use a safety for any lamp or modifier above people, and never extend the risers beyond their marked limits.
- Carry the C-stand with the arm removed or controlled; close knuckles gently so the casting is not crushed.
