Overview
The ARRI 9" wire scrim set is designed for precise intensity control in open-face and Fresnel fixtures with a 9" accessory slot, including 2K tungsten and 1.2K HMI units. Constructed from heat-resistant wire mesh within a rigid steel frame, the scrims reduce output without altering color temperature or beam quality. The set includes two full double scrims (~1 stop reduction), one full single (~½ stop), one half single, and one half double, allowing selective exposure control across the beam for balancing highlights, shaping contrast, or compensating for falloff. Each scrim features a standard tab for safe insertion and removal from the front accessory holder while the fixture is hot. Compatible with fixtures such as ARRI 2K Fresnels, T2, Studio 1K, Compact 1.2K HMIs, as well as equivalent Mole-Richardson, LTM, and Altman heads, the set provides consistent, repeatable light reduction without introducing diffusion or spill.

- Confirm the fixture has a 9 in accessory slot before bringing the scrim near a hot lamphead.
- Insert the scrim with its tab accessible and close the accessory-retaining latch so it cannot fall.
- Place a half scrim on the brighter side of the beam to balance falloff without moving the fixture.
- Use gloves for removal, inspect mesh for bends or tears, and let every scrim cool flat before returning it to the case.
